How does the Government of India spend its money? Expenditures lie at the core of state accountability. Yet in India, we have remarkably little accessible, easy to use information on how the government actually spends its money. To bridge this gap and to push for greater transparency and accountability in expenditure data, before the annual budget, we produce Budget briefs: easy to understand 4-6 page analysis of trends in Government of India expenditure for public services.
