Consultation: Civil Society and Accountability
The Accountability Initiative is holding a consultation entitled Civil Society and Accountability on the 2nd and 3rd of December 2009 at Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi.The overall objective of the consultation is to debate the nature and effectiveness of civil society led social accountability experiments. Specifically, the consultation aims to address the following key issues:
• Interrogating the scope, limitations and challenges to civil society efforts to strengthen accountability
• Identifying potential for replicability and scale
• Debating challenges of institutionalization and effectiveness

(The aim of this 2-day consultation is to have an open, critical dialogue between stakeholders. For this reason, except for the opening session and the closing panel discussion, we will keep presentations to a minimum.
