Research Associate:

The Accountability Initiative is seeking to hire a Research Associate to work on the PAISA Project.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing PAISA program at the state level
  • Undertaking training and managing PAISA survey’s at the state level
  • Build and regularly update a database of budgetary allocations, expenditures and release
  • Analysis of relevant data including trend analysis, graphical representation and outcomes for some centrally sponsored schemes.
  • Work with members of the PAISA team in coordinating PAISA and preparing PAISA related documents including budget briefs

 Qualifications/Skill Sets: 

  • Masters degree or higher in relevant field – mathematics, statistics, economics
  • Strong research and analytical skills, particularly with data analysis
  • Ability to mine data
  • Computer skills in Microsoft office (word, excel, power point) and other data management programs
  • Working knowledge of India’s budgetary systems and public finance management is preferred
  • Willingness to travel
  • Strong inter-personal skills
  • Fluency in English and Hindi including good writing skills
  • Working knowledge of regional languages is preferred
